Reviews about Eljo's Traditional Clothes

  • February 15, 2020, by Garrett L. Showers
I wandered in here one day because the shop I had been going to no longer carried khakis that fit me properly. To be clear, I wasn't looking for anything too crazy -- just some nice traditional pants that are well made. Immediately upon entering the store I was impressed. Myles greeted me with a genuine smile and struck up a natural conversation. I got to looking around and realized this place was unique. All their products are hand selected by the owners, whom I might add are connoisseurs of the industry. The products themselves suggest an authentic sense of style, timeless and applicable across generations. But don't take my word for it! As I perused their selection, Myles and I casually discussed a number of topics, and delightfully demonstrated knowledge of the products in unobtrusive fashion. That is, he was never overzealous. I never got a "salesy" vibe the whole time I was there. Instead, I felt like I had my own personal adviser, and ultimately I left that day satisfied with my purchase (a pair of Franks Pants and a pair of Bills Khakis). I was advised to go ahead and wash them before tailoring to get the truest fit. So I came back to get my pants tailored. This time I was greeted by Trent, Myles' son. He was equally as gracious and knowledgeable, maintaining the same personal vibe that I enjoyed so much on my previous visit. I ended up staying longer than anticipated, partially because of the classic service, partially because their selection is so captivating. While getting my pants fitted, it was easy to tell how much they cared about precision, which I can't appreciate enough, and which seems to be a dying art in this industry. Again, I left feeling more satisfied than I had ever felt leaving a clothing store. Of course, both pairs of pants fit perfectly when they came in. Additionally, the turnaround for their tailor is one day, another extremely convenient aspect of their business. Ultimately, I just had to share what a positive experience I had there, and also relief that I've finally found a traditional men's shop that has as much character as the city in which it resides. Even if you just go to browse, it's worth the trip, but I find it highly unlikely that you'll walk out empty handed!
